I had a nice long entry typed up when this worthless machine chose to gobble it up. Here's the abriged version to be expanded in a later entry IF this festering pile of maggot eaten, filth encrusted garbage starts behaving it's worthless self.

1 I'm learning to sew

2 Limiting my plush dog collection to mini/pocket sized dogs from now on

3 Having computer problems

The plush pack has grown this month as it usually does whenever I get some cash. I went all over the place, visited several nearby towns and came back with a few treasures. Including:

1 Aurora Super Flopsies Copper The Cocker Spaniel. I was especially happy to find him, because he looks just like my flesh and blood cocker who recently died.
2 Skeeter, a shaggy  brown Ty Classics dog
3 Cassie, a Ty Beanie Babies Collie
4 Webkinz Bulldog
5 Webkins Black lab
6 Aurora Harley the bulldog, a small bulldog in a black leather jacket with "loveable dog" embroidered on the back and a white t shirt.

In addition, I got some birthday money early and bought:

1 Ty Beanie Buddies Divalectible the Chihuahua. I initially didn't get her because I hated the name and the pink furred collar she wore, but upon inspection the collar was only held on with a few strands of thread and was a simple matter to remove and the name could be easily ignored once the tag was snipped off her ear. Now she looks like a normal chihuahua, not unlike the plush Taco Bell dog I had in the 90s. Because of this I'm thinking of calling her Taco.

2 Ty Beanie Babies Hobo The sheepDog Beanie Baby

3 Ty Pluffies Whiffer the dog

4 Ty First Dog Beanie Buddy, a white dog with USA embroidered on his paw. Wore a patriotic hat too but I removed it. It was about to come off anyway.

And before I close, I'd like to rant a little. This involves my new plush chihuahua kind of. One thing I've always hated is how little dogs are often portrayed as prissy little yappy annoyances. All the little dogs I've known have been just as courageous and loyal as any big dog. If they are treated with love and respect and not as some toy, they are perfectly normal. And if they are prissy, the falt usually lies with the human who raised them. That's why I hated that fluffy pink collar and the fruity name that came with my plush Chihuahua. Give the creature a little dignity for God's sake. Even plush dogs deserve dignity and now without that collar and that godawful name attached to her ear she has it.

Holy shit it's been a long time since I posted an entry. I'm still learning my way around the new area. I found a gift shop at a local casino that stocked tons of stuffed critters. I came home with a Ty black lab named Tugger. the place was stacked with stuff. I accidently stepped on a stuffed chihuahua that someone had knocked on the floor. Of course, I picked her up and put her back on the shelf. Dogs shouldn't be left lying on the floor. People should show some fucking respect.
I also found another hospital gift shop that stocked Ty stuffed critters. I picked up a shaggy dog named Boone. I keep finding cool things around here. My cousins have clued me in on several other stores in the area that stock plush animals. Friday will be spent exploring these shops and adding to the collection.

Day after yesterday I went shopping in Jackson, Ms. About 45 minutes  away from the new house. I figured I'd have more luck finding things there than I ever did in the area I used to live in. I never thought I would get as much as I did.

My first stop was a Toys R Us. I've never lived within driving distance of a Toys R Us before. It's nice. I came across a display with all sorts of different plush dog breeds, and I just went nuts. I picked up a german shepherd, cocker spaniel, chocolate lab, bulldog, boxer, Border collie and Basset Hound. I barely scratched the surface. There were tons of others.
Next stop was the mall. It blew the mall in my old town out of the water, not that that's very difficult to do. It was shit. I found the Hallmark and went in, they had a couple dog Beanie Babies, but I passed on them since I was looking for one particular Beanie Buddy. no dog buddies whatsoever, just beanies. Hallmark also had Webkins. I've been hearing a lot about them. They're supposed to be the hot new thing. Hard to find. According to a sign Hallmark was only allowing one per customer to be purchased. But all Hallmark had were frog ones so I left empty handed.
I was walking through the mall when I found another store that stocked webkins, they had tons of that same frog that Hallmark had, but they also had three Pug dogs. I bought one. I had to. They come with a tag with a code on it that lets you access a virtual pet version of the plush animal you bought on the webkinz site, but I can't access it on dial up. I probably wouldn't even if I could. All I care about is that he's a neat plush dog. Virtual pets don't do anything for me anymore.
I went up to the mall's second floor, and found a Build A Bear workshop. Of course I had to go in and see if I could make me a dog. I found one I didn't have yet and set out to stuff him. I stood on the little black pedal that caused stuffing to shoot into his limp form while the clerk held him up to the stuffing tube. Then the clerk closed him up, and I set off to name him and fill out his certificate. His name is Questor, after Questor Thews, the Wizard in Terry Brooks' Kingdom of Landover novels.
That pretty much broke me. I spent everything I had on plush dogs and I'm glad I did. I haven't had so much fun in years. It's great having access to towns where I can actually find toy dogs without having to rely on the internet all the time.

Well, I'm moved into the new place now. I had no internet access for about two weeks so I spent the time rereading some of my books. I'm back on the net, but unfortunately with only a dial up connection. Just for the record, DirectTV is run by a bunch of liars and crooks. They lied to us from the get go. They said we'd have local channels. We didn't. They said we could get high speed internet. We couldn't.So we ditched them and went with Dish network. Unfortunately, in this area, dial up is the only option for now. I'm going to have to get used to it. Fortunately it isn't as bad as I expected. I thought, for example, that I wouldn't be able to use livejournal on Dial up, but here I am. It's slower, but not excruciating most of the time.
Tommorrow, I'm going to take advantage of living near a big town and go hunting for new plush dogs. I also have to look for an orange Care Bear for my cousin. She set up my internet for me since I have an ear infection and can't hear out of my left ear very well and thus can't talk on the phone and operate the computer very well. The bear is just my way of saying thank you to her. She collects teddy bears and loves the color orange. I figured it'd be nice if I can find her an orange bear. Care Bears come in all sorts of colors so they're probably my best shot at finding an orange bear.

Tracker, the beanie buddy dog came through his operation with flying colors. He came to me flat as a pancake, and now he's well stuffed. He's still floppy and squishy, but he no longer looks like he was hit by a car.
My mom did most of the work. She knows a hell of a lot more about sewing than I do. And since this was a delicate operation it was probably best that someone who actually knew what she was doing handle it..
We went in by opening a seam on his paw. The one with no beans in it ( it was supposed to have beans, but Tracker came to me a bit defective ). I tried to add stuffing myself, but my fingers were too fat to easily get into the small opening. He was stuffed then sewn up. I made a few stitches myself, just to learn how it was done ( I'm trying to learn to sew so I can make my own stuffed dogs ) but mom did most of the work. I didn't trust myself to do it right. I need a lot more practice before I'd be comfortable doing something like that. Someday I'll be doing things like this myself. Learning to sew and make my own dogs is number one on my list of things to do before I die.

Anyway Tracker is fine. He's nice and healthy now.

We're still waiting to move. The house is ours, we're just waiting for the current owners to move out. In the meantime I ordered a few plush dogs awhile back.
Four Ty Beanie Buddies and one Ty classic. Beanie Buddies are larger versions of Ty Beanie Babies, and Classics are Ty's regular plush line. The Buddies are Rover the Red Dog, Courage the German shepherd, Tracker the basset hound and Butch the bull terrier. The Classic is Shredder the bulldog.
Tracker needs an operation. He has no stuffing whatsoever in his middle, and he is missing the sack of beans that is supposed to be sewn into one of his front paws. I'm going to buy some stuffing from Wal Mart, open up a seam and fill him out a little. Most buddies are floppy and soft, but they aren't flat. Tracker is flat. He needs to be fixed. I suppose I could have sent him back since he's defective, but then he'd probably end up being destroyed. I wouldn't want that.

The updates have been scarce lately. It's been busy here. We found out we're definately moving. So we've been packing and making preperations. We'll have an acre of land, a house twice as big as the one we're currently in, and an above ground swimming pool. But more importantly, we'll have access to two huge towns, with anything one could possibly want so I won't have to rely on the internet to add to my plush dog collection.
And speaking of the internet, for awhile there it looked like I was going to have to go back to Dial up. Had that played out, I was going to delete this journal. It can be slow on even my high speed connection sometimes. I wouldn't want to fight it on dial up. Fortunately I found out Direct TV offers high speed internet in the new area so I won't have to do without High speed afterall.
Updates may be few and far between anyway, at least until I get moved and get settled.

Dogz
We were digging through the closets today looking for some paperwork when we came across an old taped up cardboard box. Upon opening the box we came across something I had long since forgotten about. A brown plush Dogz dog.
Dogz were part of the virtual pet craze of the mid 90s. They were a computer program that had little computerized dogs run around your computer screen. You could feed them, care for them, pet them, shit like that.
This Dogsz that I have is a plush spin off of the computer game. He has a sensor in his tongue which interacts with his plastic food dish, so he makes noises when you feed him. He also has a sensor in his back that reacts when you brush him with his plastic brush. I plan to do surgery to remove said sensors. I already snipped off the battery pack. He's a nice enough stuffed dog without that electronic gimmick garbage. I don't like electronic junk in my stuffed animals. He's too cool to need that crap.
As I said, he is a very nice stuffed dog. He has big blue eyes with black eyebrows, a blue collar, and moveable eyelids. His fabric eyelids can be moved to make it look like he's sleeping or winking. He can also be made to look like he's stoned. Actually, he looks kind of like Farfel, the dog puppet in those old Nestle commercials.
I bought him sometime in the late 90s at the now defunct local Kay Bee toys. I thought I sold him at a yard sale awhile back, but I guess I was wrong. I'm happy I didn't and I'm sure HE'S happy he isn't cooped up in that box anymore.

So we're probably going to be moving soon. This is a good thing for many reasons. One, we'll be closer to several big towns, with decent malls, movie theatres, stores, flea markets and other places I can go to expand my ever growing plush dog collection. There's nothing here, and I've had to rely on the internet for stuffed dogs.
Speaking of stuffed dogs, I'm going to be getting my own space to display them. I'll have more room for them, and I won't have to limit my collection to just beanie dogs anymore.
Third we'll be closer to family.

Nothing is finalized at the moment though. We're still looking for a place, a house in that area to move to. But we're well and truly sick of this shitpiece town and are looking forward to moving on to greener pastures.

I was wrong about Blue. He CAN sit on my shoulder. He's doing it now. I found he'll stay if I lay him on his belly with his snout peeking over my shoulder. Took me awhile to figure it out. I guess I'm a bit slow on the uptake. Now all my beanies can perch on my shoulder while I'm doing stuff.

I should have updated sooner, but I was distracted. My beanies arrived Tuesday, all 19 of them, bringing my collection from 28 to 47. My beanie bag is now full to bursting, and I'm going to need to purchase a second soon.

I got Sparky, an extra dotty, an extra bones, an extra Wrinkles, an extra Bruno, Blue,  Alps, Courage, Rescue, Tiny, an extra Doby, Cupid,  Jinglepup and Tinsel among others.

Courage and Rescue are a German Shepherd and a dalmation, each with an american flag embroidered on their shoulder.

Blue is from Blue's Clues. I know nothing of Blue's Clues. I have no opinions on it one way or another. However I took a liking to the beanie version and now I own him. He's kind of different from most Ty Beanies, in that he hasn't got a lot of beans and he's not floppy. Unlike other Beanies, Blue can't sit on my shoulder while I'm on  the internet, because since he has few beans he doesn't have the balance necessary to do so. This saddens me, but I'll cope.

Poor Sparky is defective. The thread that represents his mouth is coming out. I shudder to think what would have happened to Sparky had I not gotten him. A lot of Beanie collectors are perfectionists. If a beanie is not perfectly mint, it is rejected. I can easily see Sparky being returned. If he was considered not fit for sale he may have been destroyed. Fortunately, his defective mouth doesn't bother me. I love him anyway. He'll never have to worry about rejection now.

Tinsel and Jinglepup are Christmas dogs.

Tiny looks like a Beanie version of the Taco Bell Chihuahua.

I was very happy to recieve extras of Bones and Doby. Two of my favorite Beanies. I wish they'd had included a Rover too. Maybe next time.

And that closes this post, jumbled and disjointed though it may be.

I never did get through to that online store, but fortunately I did finally get a tracking number in my E-Mail. My beanies will be here Tuesday. With a lot of other places I've dealt with, you get a tracking number as soon as the items ship. This being different put me off. I'm pretty paranoid when dealing with a new place. I think from now on I'll only stick to ordering Beanies from places I'm used to. It's easier on my nerves.
Of course, now that I know how this new place operates, I won't be nervous about dealing with them next time. Now I have two places I can go to get my beanie fix. I gotta hand it to this new place, they ship quick. They shipped my beanies within three hours of getting my order. Now THAT'S service!
So anyway, nineteen beanie dogs are on the way. I have no idea which ones ten of those will be. I ordered a mixed lot of 10 beanie dogs for $30. I also got Courage, rescue, Jinglepup, Tinsel, Tiny,  Alps, blue, Sparky and Cupid.

Okay, so I tried a new place online and ordered some beanies. I did this early this morning. Nineteen beanies in all. $120 worth. So a few hours later I check my status. It said my order had been processed and shipped. Okay, good, that was fast. But there's no tracking number. None in my order status and none in my E-Mail inbox. I was curious as to why this was, since I paid extra for two day shipping and it'd be nice to know exactly when to expect my package, y'know so I can be home to recieve it. Since this was a new place I wanted to see what was up. Maybe this place just didn't send out tracking numbers like most places I've dealt with. That's fine, I just want to make sure.
There's a phone number on the site to contact them, so I decide to try that. I call, and after the phone rings a couple times I get a recording telling me no one's in to take the call. Okay fine, I'll try again later. So I wait about a half hour and call back. Again I get a machine. Wait another half hour, call back. Machine. Again. Machine. Once more. A Damned shitspawn cocksucking motherfucking fuckwit MACHINE!! So tell me, am I missing something here? I mean what's the point of posting a phone number on the site if no one ever answers the fucking phone? So now I'm starting to get nervous about dealing with this company, and as a result of that I'm getting pretty frustrated that I can't speak to a human being. The first time I ever tried to order beanies online, I got jerked around a lot and the company ( allbeanies.com ) refused to ship my stuff after they got my money. I'm scared I'm about to go through the same shit all over again with this new place.
Fortunately I managed to check their ebay feedback and they have an overwhelming amount of positives. The only negatives they seem to have are from people who have no idea how online ordering is supposed to work, or people so anal that they find the slightest little thing to get pissed about. I really don't think this company is fraudulent, I just wish I could contact them so I could get my question answered.

So I had to sell some of my games because my family needed the money. I took six bucks for myself and went to see the new Ninja Turtles movie.
We just got a new theatre in town, and it's really strange to me. The theatre I had been going to all my life closed down about a year ago, and we got the new Nelco Theatre. It's huge. The seats are positioned so it's next to impossible for someone sitting in front of you to block the view, and you have to climb stairs to get to most of the seats. This may be common for anyone reading this, but being used to the small theatre in this hick town where all the seats were on the same ground floor level it's a new experience for me.
As per usual, I took a beanie dog with me. This time it was Rover the red dog. I held him while I tried to watch the movie. I say tried because right as the film started an entire shitload of people entered the theatre. I think it was a group trip or something. They came in talking the entire time, took forever to find their seats, and when they finally did they kept getting up and tromping up and down the stairs getting snacks. And they absolutely would not shut the fuck up. I thought about feeding the assholes to Rover, but he refused. He said he didn't eat shit.
Anyway for the most part, I enjoyed the movie. I just wish I didn't have to view it with a theatre full of inconsiderate morons.

Today I found the beanie dogs in the storage room. I was expecting to find two, maybe three tops. I was in for a surprise. I came out with TEN beanies!!

Wrinkles, Spunky, Gigi, tricks, rufus, tuffy, muddy, whiskers, Sniffer and Fetcher. That brings my grand total of beanie Dogs to 28.

I don't even remember buying most of these. In fact, I now have two of Wrinkles. I bought him a couple months ago thinking I didn't have him. I'm pretty damn happy right now.

Waiting for next Friday when I get paid and can get me some more beanie dogs.

Spot the beanie dog and I had a little adventure a few days ago. Running all over town and discovering a used bookstore/ video store with one count'em ONE book worth buying. But I had no money.

Yeah, Beanies. Here's the thing about beanies. They're supposed to be these big time collectibles. People buy little plastic cases to seal them up in, little plastic tag protectors to protect the hang tag and basically treat toys like museum pieces. Now this is fine and good for some. I have no problem with others doing it, but me I don't see the point. My beanies are tagless. I rip the suckers off the second I get them. My beanies aren't collectibles, they're stuffed animals and they're treated like stuffed animals. I hold them, carry them around in my pocket, play with them, things like that,. Spot is draped across my shoulder as I type this. Sure they may get dirty or worn but so what? That's what they're for. They're meant to be loved. And I plan to keep them forever. If they get too worn and I can't sew them or patch them up anymore, I plan to learn how to make sort of a second skin for them out of fabric. It may not be pretty, it may be halfassed, but it will keep my friends with me that much longer. They may not look the same, but their spirit will still be intact.

The fact is, I enjoy these guys. Having a small plush dog I can carry around with me everywhere, knowing that no matter what, at least one of these guys will be with me always is a great comfort. It's like a security blanket sort of thing. When you deal with depression as long as I have you take your comfort where you can get it.

I got into the storage closet today to look for a few of my Beanie dogs. Most of them are in a large black duffel bag, but over time some got seperated from the pack and ended up in storage. I got lucky and the three I'm looking for were in the first box I searched. Now I've added Titan, the great dane, Diddley and Kookie to the pack bringing the total amount of Beanie Dogs I KNOW I have to a grand total of 17.
I'm also thinking there are some in the storage ROOM. But it may be months or even years before I find them. The storage room has a fuckton of boxes. Going through there is an all day job. I'll have to wait till someone else in the family needs something in there so I'll have help. God only knows how long that'll be. This is why I really don't like having my stuff in there.
I also spent the morning in my account on the official Ty site creating lists of Beanie dogs I own and Beanie dogs on my wish list.. I had 17 in my collection and about 92 or so on my wish list so I have a long way to go.
It's amazing, I started to set up an account when I got a message that the username I selected was already taken. I knew I had an account there at one time but I figured it'd been deleted from lack of use over the years. Nope, tried the username and one of my ancient passwords and it turns out it's still there. And how old IS this account? Well the E-Mail address from the account was a WebTV addy. I haven't used WebTV since the late 90s. Pretty old. I'm surprised it's still around and kicking. It's getting some use now though.

Well, I've definately decided to start limiting my collection to Ty Beanie dogs. I've been scouring the internet and I've found several sites that sell them, many of which have massive varieties. See the internet is my only way to get them. Noplace in my shitass town stocks them. Well one place has beanies but the selection is so skimpy they may as well not have. They don't seem all that interested in getting the latest releases in either. Plus what they mostly have is bears and really, fuck bears. I want DOGS!

Yesterday Tracker the beanie basset went with me to Wal Mart. He's probably not the first beanie dog to ever see the inside of a wal mart, but the fact is he went, and he says he'll take his victories where he can get them. He rode in my pocket. He thought about ransacking the meat department until I reminded him that beanie dogs don't eat. I guess instincts die hard even for beanie dogs. It was fun though. It's nice having a stuffed dog I can bring pretty much anywhere, even nicer having MULTIPLE stuffed dogs I can take anywhere. From now on, no matter where I go or what I do there'll be a beanie dog with me. Call em' lucky charms or whatever.

So I may be screwed. I'm running out of places to put stuffed dogs. I've got two Pet Nets full, the closets are full, everything's full.

I may have come up with a solution. I'm seriously considering limiting my collection to Ty Beanie Dogs from now on. They're small so they don't take up much room, they're portable, so I can have a dog with me where ever I go ( something I've always wanted to do ) and there's tons of them, with new ones being made all the time, so there'll always be something to collect.

I've been poking around the internet and I found a store that carries pretty much every beanie ever made, current and retired. What's great too is they offer a lot of 10 dogs for $25. The dogs are random, so I can't pick and theres a chance I'll get duplicates of what I already have, but it's hard to resist being able to pad the collection like that. I don't really mind duplicates either. There are some I have that I'd enjoy having more than one of. Of course, I'll still be able to buy individual beanie dogs as well. A lot of them are fairly cheap. I could buy a few that I really want, then buy the lot on top of them.I'll be able to get a ton with my monthly collectibles budget.

Anyway, that's what I'm thinking about doing. I haven't decided yet for sure, but it's awfully tempting.
